the field, and no slope was too steep for him to climb during his never-ending
search for rare sharks' teeth [top
right] What a view! Preparing our packs and tools, before descending
into the chalk canyons [center

and beautifully-preserved mosasaur vertebra, embedded in a chalk face,
could easily be mistaken for a smooth rock [bottom
right] My best find of the day: parts of a fragmented
mosasaur skull weathering out from a small hillock.
